Manufacturing Technician Level 1
The MT1 program addresses the core industry-wide skills standards required for skilled production occupations in all sectors of manufacturing.
MANUFACTURING SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE
The Manufacturing Specialist Certificate demonstrates to employers anywhere in the world that an individual has attained a certain level of industry-wide technical skills.
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN ENDORSEMENT
Students become acquainted with lab equipment and procedures, methods of measurement, recording results, chemical hazards and safety, and more.
BUSINESS CERTIFICATE
The Business Certificate addresses the core technical competencies required for positions in most sectors of business and manufacturing.
CERTIFIED INDUSTRIAL ENERGY AUDITOR (CIEA)
The CIEA program will train individuals to audit business performances and operational excellent of their energy management efforts.
CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN
A more specialized version of our Manufacturing Technician Level 1 certification, focused on the Chemical and Pharmaceutical sectors.
LEAN PRACTITIONER
The LEAN Practitioner Certification is a 4-day interactive course designed for individuals who wish to improve processes by using Lean Six Sigma methods and tools.

Through our partnership with UL, MSI Academic Partners can offer several training options that meet OSHA’s stringent quality control measures.
BECOME AN MT1 CERTIFIED TRAINER
MT1 CERTIFIED TRAINER COURSE
The MT1 Certified Trainer Course provides new instructors with the core industry-wide technical skills required to deliver the MSI approved MT1 training modules. Certified MT1 Trainers are equipped to teach entry- to mid-level manufacturing production tasks that lead to technician jobs in the manufacturing industry. Trainers can be secondary or post-secondary educators, or corporate trainers. Individuals interested in become a Certified MT1 Trainer should have experience in industry; however, this is not a requirement. Academic faculty and staff with a contextual understanding of advanced manufacturing or experience in the skilled trades are also good candidates to become certified trainers.
MT1 Trainer Recertification
The MT1 Trainer License is good for 3 years from initial certification. MT1 Trainers must attend the 3-day MT1 Certified Trainer Course and pass the MS and MT1 exam to become a Certified MT1 Trainer. Trainer Recertification can occur by completing a series of professional development activities and benchmarks as approved by MSI or by passing the MS and MT1 assessments again.
2023 MT1 CERTIFIED TRAINER COURSE SCHEDULE & INFORMATION
All sessions will be held virtually. Course sessions require a minimum of five (5) participants. If a session is not full, course registrants will be asked to select an alternate session date.
The MT1 Certified Trainer Course tuition includes: Instructor Resource Guide, Student Workbooks, MSI Learning Network eCourse Guide, Powerpoint Instructional Slides, and MT1 Assessment Testing (pre- and post-course).
MT1 CERTIFIED TRAINER NETWORK
The MT1 Certified Trainer Network is a community that shares the unique value of the MT1 certificate program’s curriculum, assessments, collateral materials, Online Learning Lab, Action Learning Lab and Learning Management System (LMS). MSI’s Academic Partners are encouraged to incorporate the third-party validated industry-recognized curriculum into degree pathways – this assures students at all levels that they have a nationally portable degree and industry credential.

The MSI Learning Lab/LMS includes online courses to support the MS and MT1 related learning. Trainers, proctors, and administrators recieve unlimited access to the network with no user fee.
