What is A LABORATORY TECHNICIAN?
A Laboratory Technician (Lab Tech) in a manufacturing laboratory will be responsible for conducting tests to determine the quality of raw materials, intermediate materials, and finished products. They may also conduct stability tests using samples of finished products. People who work in this occupation have conventional interests but prefer investigative and realistic environments. They may additionally need to know and understand chemistry, math, measurement, communication, computer literacy, manufacturing production techniques, and process flow.
Lab Tech training is available in two formats: MSI Learning Network (MLN) and blended MLN and Instructor-led Action Learning Lab training. It addresses speaking, active listening, critical thinking, production and processes, math problem
solving, systems evaluation, and analysis.
To earn the Lab Tech endorsement, an assessment must be passed via the MSI Learning Network. An MT1 certification is required prior to getting a Lab Tech Endorsement.
