The AdvanSix STEM Career Adventure, a one-day program for high school students interested in learning about chemical manufacturing technologies, took place on June 27, at ITAC, and was facilitated by the AdvanSix Advancing Together team and MSI staff. 15 students from local high schools participated in team building activities, learned about manufacturing career opportunities, took a tour of ITAC’s facilities and worked through a series of chemical plant production simulations. Students learned to apply Lean manufacturing skills to improve “production output” while reducing waste and standardizing operations. The PMT1 was administered to students as part of the amp, with 13 out of 15 students earning a passing score.
