Fifteen local workers were registered as Industrial Manufacturing Technician apprentices with the Hershey Company in Stuarts Draft on February 10. The individuals successfully completed a pre-apprenticeship boot camp in June 2019 and will now move on to full-time positions with the company while completing their apprenticeships.
The pre-apprenticeship program is part of Hershey’s planned expansion at its Augusta County plant and has been supported through a $4 Million American Apprenticeship Initiative grant awarded to the Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board (SVWDB) by the U. S. Department of Labor’s Employment & Training Administration.
