The Virginia Department of Education is funding Virginia K-12 teachers to become MT1 Certified Trainers—a $2,200 value at no cost to you!

The MT1 Certified Trainer is a Virginia DOE-approved microcredential, making it an excellent professional development opportunity. Equip your students with essential skills for modern manufacturing careers while earning valuable credentials for yourself.

The application is easy! Submit this form, and the MSI team will let you know if you qualify for a FREE course!

MT1 Certified Trainer courses will take place from 9 AM to 5 PM (EST) on the following dates in 2026:

• January 21 – 23
• March 30 – April 1
• June 8 – 10
• August 10 – 12
• November 2 – 4

MT1 Certified Trainer courses will take place from 9 AM to 5 PM (EST) on the following dates in 2027:

• January 25 – 27
• March 29 – 31
• June 7 – 9
• August 9 – 11
• November 1 – 3

Certificate Overview

Upon successfully completing the MT1 Certified Trainer program, instructors will earn two valuable certifications: the MT1 Certified Trainer credential and the MT1 Certification.
